Sérvulo relaunches Employment Law department

SÉRVULO has renewed its Employment Law department, which is now formed by Rita Canas da Silva and Magda Sousa Gomes, two lawyers with recognised experience in this practice area.

Magda Sousa Gomes has moved from the law firm MC&A, partner of the international firm Dentons, where she was responsible for Employment Law in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique. She was previously legal aide to the Secretary of State for Transport (XVIII Constitutional Government) and lawyer of the Employment Law and Employment Litigation department of the firm Abreu Advogados. Magda graduated in Law and she has a post-graduate degree in Employment Law and Social Security from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. She is also a speaker at conferences on matters relating to Employment Law.

In her turn, Rita Canas da Silva is a doctoral candidate in the area of Employment Law at the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon, where she is also studies co-coordinator of the post-graduation course on Employment Law and Social Security. Rita also collaborates with the European Labour Law Network, and she was previously adjunct to the Secretary of State for Employment, and she integrated the agency that monitored the implementation of the MOU between Portugal and the Troika (ESAME - Estrutura de Acompanhamento dos Memorandos), and which was created in support of the Office of the Under-Secretary of State Adjunct to the Prime Minister. Before that she was a lawyer in the Employment and Social Security team of the law firm Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados. Rita Canas da Silva graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, and she holds a post-graduate qualification in Employment Law from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal. She also authors articles and speaks at conferences on matters relating to this area of law.

The two new additions to the SÉRVULO team are lawyers with very complementary profiles, thereby ensuring high quality responses to clients’ requests, maintaining SÉRVULO’s trademark in this area of law that is fundamental for business.
