Patents and Industrial Property: New IP Code encourages innovation in Portugal

Today’s featured topic in Jornal Económico is Patents and Industrial Property. Portuguese entrepreneurs are now more aware of this issue, although our patent statistics performance continues to be lower than that of our European peers. Patent registration is now seen as an investment and not as a cost.

Ana Rita Paínho, an Intellectual Property, TMT and Life Sciences partner at SÉRVULO, has contributed to the article with her view that Industrial Property is a highly valuable competitive and economic asset for companies. “Trademark registration is still an essential component of a company's portfolio,” she adds.
