Manuel Castelo-Branco

At SÉRVULO since 2023, Manuel Castelo-Branco is an Of Counsel in the area of Commercial, Corporate and M&A. He was founding partner and Managing Partner of the law firm "Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco", currently "Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira". Member of the High Council of the Portuguese Bar Association between 2004 and 2007 and a legal consultant of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, between 1976 and 1982.
 
On the academic side, he was an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and at Universidade Livre. Author of several published works, in Portugal and abroad, on Securities, Financial Institutions, Banks, Privatizations, Corporate Law and Law Firms.

Relevant Experience

Legal advice in the area of corporate law, namely in the structuring of companies and groups of companies, regulation and governance, shareholder relations, national and international mergers and acquisitions.
 
In the area of financial law he also has vast experience in corporate finance, cross border, asset finance, structured finance and project finance.
 
Participation as an arbitrator in numerous national and international institutional and ad hoc arbitrations.
