Filipa Urbano Calvão

At SÉRVULO since 2023, Filipa Urbano Calvão is Of Counsel in the Public Law department. She holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Law, specialising in Legal and Political Sciences, in 2009 and 1997 respectively, both from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, Porto School, in 1993. Filipa Urbano Calvão is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, Porto School of Law, Researcher at the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law, Associate of the Center for Public Law and Regulatory Studies (CEDIPRE) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and Member of the Notebooks of Administrative Justice (CEJUR) of the University of Minho. Filipa Urbano Calvão was President of the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, between 2012 and 2023, and has a vast academic career associated to the main law schools in the country. She is a guest speaker and author of a vast number of books and articles on her areas of expertise, with a special focus on Public Law and Personal Data.

Wide-ranging experience in matters relating to public law and connected areas, including constitutional and administrative law.

Drafting of legal opinions and studies for public and private entities  in particular in the areas of constitutional law,  administrative law and technological challenges in the Public Administration.
