Corporate Governance and the New Shareholder Purpose

NEWS AND EVENTS 19 Nov 2019

On the morning of the 22 November, Paulo Câmara, a partner in SÉRVULO's Finance and Governance department, will hold a conference on “Corporate Governance and the New Shareholder Purpose”, hosted by ICC Portugal’s Corporate Responsibility and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Paulo Câmara’s contribution will foster a debate on how corporate governance can engender reflection on a company’s role in sustainability issues and in questioning the traditional view, in which the shareholder is the sole arbiter of the company’s interests. The shareholder may, however, assist in the search for a (new) corporate purpose that meets the concerns of all stakeholders (not only shareholders, but also employees, customers, suppliers and the community at large).

Registration is free, however places are limited. Please enrol by email: geral@icc-portugal.com.
