NEWS AND EVENTS 19 Jan 2026

On 26 January, SÉRVULO will welcome Cecilio Madero, one of Europe’s most influential figures in Competition Law, for an exclusive seminar entitled “Power, Politics and Big Tech: Competition Law in the Trump Era”. The session will take place from 18:00 to 19:00 at the Pousada de Lisboa.

With more than 30 years of experience at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition, where he served as Deputy Director General for Antitrust and Cartels, Cecilio Madero is currently a Senior Adviser at Flint Global and President of Competencia España. He continues to play an active role in international discussions on technology, economic security and the regulation of major digital platforms.

The seminar will open with remarks from Professor Sérvulo Correia, Founding Partner of SÉRVULO, and will close with Manuel Magalhães, Managing Partner. Throughout the session, Cecilio Madero will analyse the challenges facing competition authorities in a global environment shaped by the new US Administration, the growing influence of Big Tech and an increasingly competitive and geopolitically driven economic policy agenda.

Participation is free of charge but subject to availability.
