Sérvulo appoints a new equity partner and three new partners

Rita Canas da Silva has just been elected equity partner. Alberto Saavedra, Inês Palma Ramalho and Mariana Costa Pinto are the most recent partners at Sérvulo e Associados.

Rita Canas da Silva, elected as equity partner, is head of the Employment department and Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon School). Rita has advised numerous organizations, both private and international, on all matters relating to individual and collective employment law, including extensive experience in the management of labour relations subject to special regimes. Rita has been recognized by clients and by the main international directories as “an exceptional professional who is able to combine deep academic insight and practical expertise”.

Alberto Saavedra, senior associate in the European and Competition department since 2015, became partner. Alberto stands out for the high quality of his legal advice for international and domestic companies and public authorities in the areas of merger control, restrictive practices, market dominance, State aid and services of general economic interest, both at national and EU level. Alberto was aide to the Secretary of State for the Treasury of the XIX Constitutional Government, between 2013 and 2015, and has asserted itself in complex legal advice in the most diverse sectors of activity. International legal directories and Clients have underlined Alberto Saavedra as “an excellent legal mind. He is able to digest complicated evidence and present it in clear legal documents”.

Inês Palma Ramalho reinforces the team of partners in the Finance and Governance department. At Sérvulo since 2015, Inês i salso specialized member of the Fintech and Compliance Teams. Recognized by the legal international directories as “Rising Star” in Banking and Capital Markets, Inês Palma Ramalho has more than thirteen years of experience in legal advice in the structuring and renegotiation of financing operations, having focused its activity in recent years in the areas of Private Equity, Fintech and Regulatory, advising both institutional clients and new entrants to these markets.

Mariana Costa Pinto, senior associate in TMT & IP and Litigation, departments, since 2019, Mariana is also promoted a partner. Recognized internationally as an undisputed expert in trademarks and patents, Mariana Costa Pinto has stood out for her legal advice to several multinationals, including pharmaceutical companies and technology sector, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, in all matters related to Intellectual Property, as well as monitoring patent, trademark and copyright disputes on national courts and advising on disputes abroad.
