The Future of Large Public Procurement Contracts: Options and Challenges

NEWS AND EVENTS 18 Oct 2019

On 29 October, the SÉRVULO sponsored 13th National Congress on Electronic Public Procurement will address “The Future of Large Public Procurement Contracts: Options and Challenges” at the Academy of Sciences. Organised by the Prospective Observatory for Engineering and Technology and the Portuguese Association of Public Procurement, the Congress will offer an opportunity to reflect on major public procurement, taking into account the lessons of the past and the challenges that lie ahead for our country. The main focus will be on health, technology networks, ICT and communications.

The increasing role that Public Procurement has taken on in Portugal makes it impossible to rethink the operation of critical sectors, such as health or social support, without formulating such procurement as a structuring strategic anchor. It is also impossible to design a developmental model for our economy without a new dynamic of contracted public investment.
