Ana Luísa Guimarães takes part in work on mining and oil regulation

NEWS AND EVENTS 26 Mar 2013

SÉRVULO associate Ana Luísa Guimarães authored the article “Apontamentos sobre o carácter administrativo dos contrato relativos a recursos mineiros no direito português” (“Notes on the administrative character of mineral resources contracts in Portuguese law”), included in the anthology “Regulación Minero-petrolera colombina y comparada” published by the Universidade Externado da Colômbia (Bogotá), via its Mining and Energy Law Department, which specializes in researching and teaching the regulation of the electric, gas, mining and oil sectors.

This book is the 7th in the collection Regulación minera y energetica, all published by the same university, and coordinated by Prof. Luís Ferney Moreno. The Mining and Energy Law Department is part of the network that the Universidade Externado da Colômbia has with the "Institut für Berg- und Energierecht" (Institute of Mining and Energy Law) of Ruhr University in Bochum, with the Instituto Pascual Madoz for Planning, Urbanism and Environment of the Universidade Carlos III in Madrid and with the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy of Dundee University.

In this anthology, Colombian and South American authors, along with other international authors, present their most recent articles on mining and oil regulation within their own jurisdictions, themes of undeniable current relevance. The article written by Ana Luísa Guimarães is the only one covering mining regulation in a European country.
