Miguel Gorjão-Henriques launches seventh edition of “Direito da União

NEWS AND EVENTS 23 Sep 2014

The European Union, transformed by the Lisbon Treaty, has become a legal entity with extensive powers in all the areas of our lives and whose institutional, legal (and political) complexity and novelty are a constant challenge for Member States, and, especially, for professors, students and citizens in general.

In this manual, Miguel Gorjão-Henriques presents the fundamental points of the history of the European Community and the European Union, framing it in a desire for peace and progress on the part of European nations that suffered immeasurably in the 20th century, presenting also the fundamental legal and institutional context.

The book also offers the reader a legal perspective on citizenship, the internal market, and fundamental competition policy.

The objective of the author, who heads SÉRVULO’s European and Competition Law department, continues to be the same: to explain, in the simplest way possible, to students and other people interested, the fundamental aspects of EU law.
