Online edition of first issue of journal of Fórum de Proteção de Dados

The National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD - Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados) today made available on its website the online edition of the first issue of the journal of the Data Protection Forum (Fórum de Proteção de Dados), which includes an article by José Lobo Moutinho and David Silva Ramalho, respectively, partner and associate at SÉRVULO. The article deals with the sanctions regime of the Draft General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and Council ("Notas sobre o regime sancionatório da Proposta de Regulamento Geral sobre a Proteção de Dados do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho").

The authors analyse the difficulties in interpreting norms of a sanctionatory nature that are included in the current Draft General Data Protection Regulation, as well as the possibility of synchronising the new sanctions with the criminal and administrative offences regime currently in force in Portuguese law.
