SÉRVULO and Nuno Teixeira organise a Seminar on Medical Error

SÉRVULO IN THE PRESS 11 Mar 2019 in Jornal Económico

SÉRVULO and lawyer Nuno Teixeira have jointly organised the “Anatomy of Medical Error: Origin, Causality and Consequences” seminar, to be held in Funchal next Friday, 15 March.

The seminar will take place in the auditorium of the Centre for the Study of Atlantic History (Rua das Mercês, no. 8), between 9 am and 1 pm. Miguel Albuquerque, president of the Madeiran regional government; Pedro Ramos, regional health secretary; and Luís Drummond Borges, director of the Lusíadas group, will attend as well as other specialists.

The event will address five topics - “Avoiding error: medical practice”, “Medical responsibility and probative specificities”, “Criminal responsibility: the practice of team medicine”, “Medical error and hospital management” and “Disciplinary responsibility”. It aims to encourage greater coordination of medical practice and legal advice on a topic such as medical error, which is of increasing importance to doctors, health professionals, hospitals and patients.
