SÉRVULO appoints Manuel Castelo Branco as new Of Counsel for its Corporate and M&A area

Regarding Manuel Castelo Branco's arrival, Manuel Magalhães, Managing Partner of SÉRVULO, refers to it as a reason of great satisfaction and believes that his experience, prestige and valuable qualities will be an important contribution to the development of the project, enhancing the Firm's purpose for prime work issues in large and complex national and international operations.

Manuel Castelo Branco states that SÉRVULO is a firm of unquestionable prestige, recognised both nationally and internationally, which he has known and respected for many years, and he therefore considers this to be a new professional challenge that he embraces with great enthusiasm.

Sofia Carreiro, coordinating partner of SÉRVULO's Corporate and M&A department, mentions the added value of integrating someone with the extensive experience and recognition of Manuel Castelo Branco, adding that it fits perfectly in the internationalisation strategy of the department and of the Firm.

The now Of Counsel of SÉRVULO was founding partner and Managing Partner of the law firm Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco, later named Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, and Member of the High Council of the Bar Association.

His vast experience comes from having participated in some of the most important foreign investment projects, project finance operations, M&A and privatisations in several areas, structuring and financing of road projects and advisory services in cross-border leasing operations. As arbitrator, he has intervened in dozens of institutional and ad hoc, national and international arbitrations.

With a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, he later lectured Political Economy, Economic Law, International Economic Relations and Public Finance in the same faculty and also Multidisciplinary Legal Practice at Universidade Nova and Political Economy at Escola Superior de Jornalismo and Universidade Livre. He also conducted a post-graduate seminar on PPP - Public Private Partnerships, at the Faculty of Law of the Eduardo Mondlane University of Maputo, in Mozambique.

He has published, in Portugal and abroad, several studies on Securities and Financial Institutions, Economic and Corporate Law, Privatizations and Law Firms.
