Sérvulo Correia invites Juarez Freitas for debate with young administrative lawyers

The distinguished Brazilian lawyer and administrative law specialist Professor Juarez Freitas will be in Lisbon on May 24 to debate the rise of new concepts of Administrative Law with young Portuguese lawyers from this area. The focus will be on the themes that Professor Juarez Freitas has dedicated himself to to over the last few years, such as systemic administrative regulation in combating the market's and the government's failures; the law fundamental to good administration; the new possibility of processing public policies and the contributions of behavioural sciences to the external and internal control of public administration decisions; and, finally, the principle of sustainability and the new way of thinking public procurement. In addition to Professor Juarez Freitas and Professor Sérvulo Correia, Assis Raimundo, Moniz Lopes, Pedro Fernández Sánchez, João Miranda, Mark Bobela-Mota Kirkby and Mafalda Carmona, all Portuguese administrative law specialists, will also be debating the issues at hand.

About Professor Juarez Freitas:

PhD in Law; Master's in Philosophy; Post-doc in Law from the Università degli Studi di Milano; Professor of Law at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio Grande do Sul; President of the Brazilian Institute of Higher Studies on Public Law; Member of the Founding Council of the Brazilian Institute of Administrative Law; Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Oxford and Columbia; author of numerous published works, including O Direito Fundamental à Boa Administração Pública (3rd ed., São Paulo: Malheiros, 2014).
