Sérvulo organises seminar on Acquisition and Financing of Businesses in Luanda, in partnership with Angolan Capital Markets Commission

NEWS AND EVENTS 27 Jun 2011

The seminar Acquisition and Financing of Businesses will take place today in Luanda, and it boasts the presence of Angolan Finance Minister Carlos Alberto Lopes in the opening session, and with that of the Angolan Minister for the Economy, Abrahão do Pio Amaral Gourgel, in the closing session, as well as with the presence of MPLA Secretary for Economic and Social Affairs, Prof. Manuel Nunes Júnior, whose intervention will focus on corporate governance and public sector enterprise.

SÉRVULO partners Paulo Câmara and António Teles, respectively finance and corporate specialists, will speak about the keys issues relating to company acquisitions, including guarantees, IPOs, mergers and financing.

The seminar will also coincide with the launch, in Angola, of the book Acquisitions of Companies, a work which forms part of the Sérvulo & Associados collection. The book was authored by 12 lawyers and academics, all part of SÉRVULO.

As Paulo Câmara, the coordinator of the book states: “This work aims to fill a gap in the publishing market by offering, for the first time, an integrated and multidisciplinary legal analysis of mergers and acquisitions, these being the operations which most challenge lawyers’ legal ingenuity and their ability to assert themselves as creators of innovative transactional solutions, in a constantly changing regulatory environment.”
