João Diogo Correia, associate at SÉRVULO, in the Finance and Governance department, has been awarded the José Luís Sapateiro Prize, from CMVM, now in its 26th edition, for his study entitled “The role of DLT in the disintermediation of the relationship between listed companies and equity investors.”
The study analyses the advantages that the potential replacement of traditional securities market systems with solutions based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) may bring to the exercise of shareholder rights in listed companies. In particular, it analyses the potential of disintermediation in the relationship between issuers and investors and its impact in enhancing direct share ownership.
The prize was awarded yesterday at the CMVM Annual Conference themed “Innovation in Capital Markets”, recognizing the relevance and timeliness of the study in the context of the digital transformation of financial markets and the evolving regulatory framework.
