Sérvulo strengthens all practice areas

SÉRVULO welcomes its nine most recent recruits, in the areas of Public, Corporate, Financial, Tax, Competition and Litigation.

Two of the additions to the firm involve the much-awaited return of the associates Mafalda Carmona and Ana Filipa Morais Antunes, who are both currently concluding their PhDs in the areas of Public Law and Corporate, respectively, and who now resume their practices at SÉRVULO.

Inês Palma Ramalho is the most recent addition to the Financial department. Before joining SÉRVULO she was legal counsel at the Bank of Portugal and at the Office of the State Secretary of the Prime Minister, having integrated the Memorandums Monitoring Structure (ESAME - Estrutura de Acompanhamento dos Memorandos). In its turn, the Tax department is strengthened by the recruitment of Teresa Pala Schwalbach who previously headed the Tax department of the law firm MC&A – Sociedade de Advogados and was Top Senior Tax Consultant at Deloitte. SÉRVULO’s European and Competition team has grown with the arrival of Alberto Saavedra, previously aide to the Secretary of State for the Treasury and with prior experience as a lawyer in the competition departments of the law firms MLGTS and SRS.

In addition to this, the following trainees have also joined SÉRVULO: Alessandro Azevedo, who starts his traineeship in the European and Competition department, and who graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he was also a tutor on several disciplines as well as research assistant at the Public Law Research Centre; Catarina Saramago, who joined the Financial & Governance department, having graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, and having been awarded the Merit Scholarship throughout the four years of her degree, as well as having won the Professor Doutor Castro Mendes award, sponsored by SÉRVULO; Constança Ferreira Nunes, who has started her traineeship in the Litigation and Arbitration department, and who is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, having carried out an academic internship at SB Advogados; and, finally, Gonçalo Bargado, who joins the Public department, and who is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, and holds a graduate qualification  in Public Procurement Law from the Institute of Political Legal Sciences (ICJP - Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas), having carried out a summer internship at SÉRVULO as a result of having won the National Moot Court in Administrative Law, in 2014.

It should be noted that, this year SÉRVULO had already renewed its Employment team with the arrival of Rita Canas da Silva and Magda Sousa Gomes, and had strengthened its Litigation and Real Estate teams with the recruitment of associates Alexandra Valpaços, Rita Serrano, Inês Gonçalves Ferreira and Carla Parreira Leandro.
