ESG (Environment, Social and Governance)

Sustainability is the new priority. There are binding legal instruments or promoters of sustainability practices, and these have become unavoidable, regardless the underlining motivations - increase financial performance or ensure survival. The European Green Deal is a prime example, it aims at a sustainable ecological and socially equitable transition by 2050, providing a roadmap with ambitious and demanding key actions, to all the EU.

Closely watching this evolution, SÉRVULO offers its customers the ESG Integrated legal Service, based on the knowledge and experience of SÉRVULO's lawyers in the areas of sustainability, social assistance, governance, and a transversal expertise in all relevant areas of the law. The ESG Integrated Service (Environment, Social and Governance) has the following goals:

• Assisting our clients in several practice areas (mainly in environmental law, corporate law, tax law, banking and finance law, litigation and European law) on compliance with the regulatory framework, increasingly dense, on the role of the companies regarding the preservation of the planet and creating a fairer society
• Advise the companies in the opportunities that will arise due to the transformations that will occur as a result of the decarbonization of the economy
•  Assisting companies in the integrated fulfilment of environmental, social and governance concerns, even when those concerns exceed the minimum required by law (beyond compliance)
• Helping companies to use governance as a tool for implementing and scrutinising the environmental and social objectives that companies intend to fulfill
• Assist companies in setting their corporate purpose and in the strategic, organizational and governance structure for their full compliance

This Integrated Service also does not neglect the internal dimension and, to that extent, it is part of SÉRVULO's corporate social responsibility strategy it also helps to mediate the committed support to causes and organizations that SÉRVULO is associated with in terms of sustainability and corporate purpose.
