Non-Habitual Residents’ (“NHR”) Regime

The Draft State Budget Law for 2019 was presented yesterday before the Portuguese Parliament.                        

Despite the rumours of the last months which foresaw changes to the NHR regime, namely the introduction of a small levy on pensions, no amendments to this regime are included in the Draft State Budget Law for 2019.

Nonetheless, confirmation that no such changes will occur can only be obtained by year-end, when the final version of the State Budget Law is published.
