Advocatus Summit discusses the challenges of European Defence

The latest edition of the Advocatus Summit, sponsored by SÉRVULO and moderated by Tiago Freire, Deputy Editor of ECO, brought together experts to discuss the key challenges facing European defence in a context of growing geopolitical instability.

During the session, Francisca Mendes da Costa, Partner at SÉRVULO and Head of the Defence & Security sector, analysed the development of recent European initiatives in this field, including the White Paper for European Defence Readiness and the ReArm Europe Plan, highlighting the importance of strengthening the European Union’s defence capabilities.

Among the main conclusions of the debate was the need to promote greater European strategic autonomy through investment in industrial and technological capabilities, as well as enhanced joint procurement among Member States. The discussion also featured contributions from Sérgio Barbedo (Thales Portugal), Pedro Vidigal Monteiro (SÉRVULO) and Pedro Soares (Microsoft Portugal).
