Miguel Santos Almeida appointed as Arbitrator of the Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sport

Miguel Santos Almeida, SÉRVULO's lawyer, was appointed as arbitrator of the Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for the 2019-2023 term.

The ceremony of the new CAS arbitrators took place on June 4, at the headquarters of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, and was led by the President of the CAS Sport Arbitration Council, Counselling Judge António Peixoto Madureira, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo, the President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, José Manuel Constantino, as well as the President of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, Vítor Pataco.

The CAS, created by Law no. 74/2013 of 6 September, is an independent specialized court with specific jurisdiction to administer justice in disputes that are part of the sporting legal system or related to the practice of sports.
