SÉRVULO organises a Seminar on the MiCA Regulation - Opportunities and Challenges for the Financial Sector

On 22 January, between 10am and 1pm, SÉRVULO is organising a seminar on the MiCA Regulation - Opportunities and Challenges for the Financial Sector, with the participation of António Henriques, CEO of Bison Bank, João Vieira dos Santos, Legal Advisor at CMVM's International and Regulatory Policy Department and Verónica Fernández, partner in the Finance & Governance practice and head of SÉRVULO's Fintech Service. 

The topics being analysed include the involvement of the national financial sector in the field of cryptoassets and the new business opportunities for the sector, presented by António Henriques; the objectives and scope of the MiCA regulation, as well as its application timetable, by João Vieira dos Santos; and the new legal framework applicable to the issuance and provision of services related to crypto assets, by Verónica Fernández.

 

Speakers 

António Henriques

With more than 25 years' experience in the investment banking and asset management sectors António Henriques has extensive management experience in the areas of business development, internal control, operations, organisation, information systems, procurement, quality and sustainability, having also coordinated various performance, productivity and organisational transformation programmes. 

João Vieira dos Santos

João Vieira Santos holds a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. He presented his thesis entitled "Regulation of FinTech Forms of Corporate Financing - In particular Crowdfunding and Initial Coin Offerings". He has been a lawyer at the CMVM since 2018 and is currently in the institution's Strategic Analysis, Innovation and Communication Department. Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Humanities and Technologies. 

Verónica Fernández

Lawyer and Partner in the Finance and Governance department, an area in which she has extensive experience, particularly in Capital Markets, Banking and Fintech. She has postgraduate qualifications in Consumer Law, Banking, Capital Markets and Insurance Law and Administrative Litigation.
