Sérvulo organises event "Whatsapp with protecting mobile apps?"

NEWS AND EVENTS 21 May 2015

Mobile applications (apps) are already an integral part of our everyday reality and they are widely used to sell products and services by companies in the most varied sectors. Are entrepreneurs well-informed on the legal issues surrounding the uses of apps? Have they duly ensured the protection of copyright underlying the technology? One thing is certain, companies that are appropriately protected are worth more in the eyes of investors and potential buyers.

These and other issues will be dealt with during the event “Whatsapp with protecting mobile apps?” which takes place on May 28 at the offices of SÉRVULO. The event includes the participation of Luís Caldas de Oliveira, Vice-President of Entrepreneurship, Corporate Relations and Technology Transfer of the IST - Instituto Superior Técnico, Diogo Ortega, CEO of Pharmassistant, and Patrícia Akester, coordinator of SÉRVULO's Intellectual Property Clinic. The event is open to technology companies and start-ups. The event is free, but spaces are limited, so booking is required.

The Intellectual Property Clinic has as its main purpose primarily advising technology companies and start-ups, on all matters relating to the legal protection of intellectual property assets. One of the characteristics that sets the Clinic apart is the fact that SÉRVULO relies on a variable compensation model, adapted to each case. This characteristic permits companies to ensure the protection of their intellectual property assets while bypassing the problem of scarcity of resources that many start-ups face as they daily struggle to grow in the market.
