Emanuela Vunge

Emanuela Vunge is an Angolan lawyer and partner of LEAD Advogados. She coordinates the Oil & Gas and Tax Law practice areas.
She has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University (2002), a Postgraduation in Civil Law (Contracts) from the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, an LLM in Oil & Gas Law, a Master’s in Political Science and Public Law from the Catholic Institute of Paris (2013) and an LLM in French, European and International Corporate Law from the Pantheon-Assas University, Paris II (2014-2015). She also has a University Extension Course from the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University (2016) and a Tax Process Course, Almedina, Coimbra (2016).
Emanuela leads the practice areas of Oil & Gas, Tax and Tax Litigation and Customs. She has been advising Angolan and international groups of companies on restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, tax audits, transfer pricing, real estate investment funds and companies and tax issues related to regulated industries, such as telecommunications and insurance.
She has worked for ten years as a Compliance Officer for an International Oil & Gas Company in Angola and in the United Kingdom and is highly experienced in regulatory matters, due diligences, public transactions and advising on various financing operations from an Angolan Tax Law perspective.
She was a temporary secondee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, where she devoted herself to analysing and evaluating the Angolan State's Decentralization process, with a deep focus on the legislative process, with a view to decentralisation and main focus on local tax creation.
She has also developed strong experience in oil and gas contract negotiations and transactions, tax and employment litigation, and she is the author of several papers in Public Law and Civil Law.
