Miguel Santos Almeida

At SÉRVULO since 2013, Miguel Santos Almeida is an Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration department, working mainly in the area of Corporate Crime and Regulatory Compliance, with a special focus on economic financial sector, and Sports Law. In 2016 he concluded the MLM - Master in Law and Management, a joint course between the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon and the Nova School of Business and Economics. He also concluded graduate studies in Arbitration, at the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon, in 2015, and in Intellectual Property Law, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, in 2012. He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, in 2009. In 2015 he won the 16th edition of the Prémio CMVM, the award granted yearly by the Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM – Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários). Between 2009 and 2013 he was a lawyer at «Carlos Pinto de Abreu e Associados». He has been a member of the Disciplinary Commission of the International Judo Federation, since 2013. Since 2017 he is President of the Supervisory Board of the Lisbon District Judo Association. He is an occasional guest speaker at conferences and on graduate courses on matters related to his areas of activity.  He is a member of the Criminal Forum – Association of Criminal Lawyers (Fórum Penal – Associação de Advogados Penalistas). He joined the Portuguese Bar Association in 2012.

Risk evaluation and prevention, and implementation of compliance policies.

Accompanying litigation cases, of a civil, commercial and sports nature, before state and arbitration courts.

Advising companies of the financial sector in restructuring or liquidation procedures, or in cases of regulatory intervention, as well as in commercial and insolvency litigation cases.

Assisting in administrative procedures and in competition law private enforcement cases.
