New extension of compulsory telework until May 30th

SÉRVULO PUBLICATIONS 17 May 2021

On the 14th of May, the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 59-B/2021 ("CMR") was published, declaring the maintenance of the state of calamity, under the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

According to this CRM, the measures that have been in force since the 1st of May will be maintained until 11:59 p.m. of the 30th of May. Therefore, on what specifically regards telework, this regime will continue to be compulsory for all companies in mainland Portugal.

Thus, once again, such imposition was extended, regardless of the contractual relationship, whenever the functions allow it and the employee is able to carry them out, without the need for a written agreement between the parties.

Until the 30th of May, confirmation on what will be decided to implement onwards on this regard will be pending.
