Sérvulo launches integrated legal service for Portugal 2020 programme

NEWS AND EVENTS 02 Feb 2015

Aware of the relevance to the Portuguese economy of the business incentives available as part of programmes like Portugal 2020, SÉRVULO has launched a new integrated legal service to assist clients with applying for public funds.

Rui Cardona Ferreira, partner in the Corporate department, leads a multidisciplinary team of lawyers that includes Miguel Gorjão-Henriques, on EU and Competition Law matters; Diogo Feio, on Tax Law matters; Francisco Boavida Salavessa, on Finance Law, and Francisca Mendes da Costa, who covers public procurement and administrative procedures related to fund allocation.

At SÉRVULO we believe that it is useful for clients applying for public funds to have at their disposal an integrated and quick response to all doubts of a legal nature that may arise during these kinds of processes. Given the truly structural dimension of the Portugal 2020 plan, which may significantly enhance business activity in Portugal, SÉRVULO considers it to be of key importance to be side-by-side with entrepreneurs, guaranteeing legal security in preparing tenders and carrying out funded projects.

The Portugal 2020 Plan is the partnership agreement between Portugal and the European Commission and which brings together the five European Investment and Structural Funds – ERDF, the Cohesion Fund, the European Social Fund, EAFRD and EMFF – which define the programming principles that establish the economic, social and territorial development policies that are to be promoted in Portugal between 2014 and 2020.

Under this plan, Portugal will receive €25 billion until 2020, with the main aim of stimulating economic growth and creating jobs. This amount will be attributed in each of the 16 operational, thematic and regional programmes.
