Maria José Lourenço

At SÉRVULO since 2018, Maria José Lourenço is a principal associate of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration department, having also developed practice in Restructuring and Insolvency. She is graduated in Law by the School of Law of the Lusíada University (1996), and she started her professional career at the law firm «M. Rodrigues e Associados, RL», between 1999 and 2006, in Public Law. Between 2006 and 2008, she was a lawyer at the «Almeida Sampaio e Associados, RL» law firm, in Intellectual Property and Corporate Law. She was also a lawyer at the "Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, RL" law firm between 2008 and 2018 at the Litigation and Arbitration department. She joined the Bar Association in 1999.

Relevant Experience

Providing legal advice in judicial and extrajudicial resolution of disputes in cases of civil and commercial litigation, namely contractual and extracontractual liability, and in restructuring and Insolvency.

Providing legal assistance on insolvency proceedings and revitalization of companies, both in the judicial phase and in the negotiation phase, as well as in financing and debt restructuring operations, in the context of M&A distressed operations, both representing the debtor or creditors of companies in restructuring.

Litigation in the areas of banking and financial law, including liquidation procedures for financial institutions.
