Newsletter Momentum - Brexit

Brexit is finally a reality, and it is important to make its impact known in some of its most relevant aspects. To this end, SÉRVULO has prepared a special edition of the Momentum Newsletter, which brings together various multidisciplinary contributions to better understand what is at stake for companies and citizens who interact and move between the United Kingdom and Portugal.

In the introductory article, Miguel Gorjão-Henriques and Guilherme Oliveira e Costa point out the doubts and challenges that still exist regarding Brexit from a European Law point of view; next, Sofia Carreiro, Pedro José Alvim and Cláudia Isabel Costa write about the changes in cross-border mergers; Constança Ferreira Nunes, meanwhile, talks about the implications of Brexit on trademarks and intellectual property; while Alexandra Valpaços, Nuno Temudo Vieira and Madalena Robalo Cordeiro analyse the impact of Brexit on the dispute resolution landscape; Margarida Costa Gomes and Maria Francisca Gama address the labour implications of Brexit; while Teresa Pala Schwalbach and Joana Leão Anjos present two articles on tax changes, one from the perspective of companies and the other from the perspective of individuals; Verónica Fernández addresses the provision of financial services in Portugal after Brexit and, finally, Paula Bordalo Faustino reflects on the post-Brexit public procurement reform.
